Brunei is located on the northwest part of the island of Borneo. It is bordered by the South China Sea to the north and on all the other sides by Sarawak, the Malaysian State. About 70 per cent of Brunei is covered by rainforests

Brunei's culture has been influenced by Malay culture and it can be seen in its language, cuisine, architecture, and lifestyle. Bruneians are a mix of Malay, Chinese, Indian and indigenous Bornean groups. The official language is Malay, but English and Chinese are widely spoken.

Bandar Seri Begawan is the capital of Brunei Darussalam and has the famous Water Village of Brunei. Muara is the main port and lies 41km from Bandar Seri Begawan. Other major cites are Seria, Kuala Belait, Pekan Tutong and Bangar.

The Temburong National Park is a known tourist attraction and tourists spend the night in the jungle in huts and can go for adventurous walks and treks. You can also go rafting on the Temburong River. Selirong Island in Brunei Bay, has elevated walkways through mangroves.

Muara Beach, Meragang Beach, and Serasa Beach have facilities for sea swimming, kayaking, sailing and surfing. Louisa Reef has underwater cliffs, coral reefs and it's a great spot for diving and snorkelling. You will find Hammerhead, White tip and Leopard sharks here.
